Football - July 24
We have had lots of football lately. The Year 4&5 boys football team played their last few games in the ‘Super 6’ league. They have had a fantastic season, competing against some of the best teams in the borough. We also played some friendly matches against St Vincent’s. Finally, the Year 4&5 girls played in a tournament against lots of other teams in the borough with some excellent performances.
Year 1&2 Quadkids Athletics - July 24
The Year 1&2 athletics teams took part in their first ever competition recently at Jim Peters Stadium. They took part in sprinting, throwing, jumping and long distance events. One of the teams even ended up finishing in 3rd place, coming away with bronze medals! Well done to all the boys and girls who took part.
Year 6 Boys’ Cricket - June 24
The Year 6 boys cricket team took part in the borough’s cricket tournament this week at May & Baker. It was a very enjoyable event with some wins and some losses, but most importantly, they had lots of fun. This was our first time attending a cricket event as a school so we learned a lot from it. Well done, boys.
Year 5 & 6 Quadkids Athletics - May 24
The Year 5&6 athletics team took part in the Barking and Dagenham athletics tournament this week. Schools from across the borough took part in a running, throwing, jumping and relay events. Well done to both our teams who performed really well.
Year 3 & 4 Quadkids Athletics - May 24
The Year 3&4 athletics team took part in the Barking and Dagenham athletics tournament this week. 26 schools took part in a running, throwing, jumping and relay events. Both of our teams performed admirably with one team even coming home with gold medals for the relay event! Well done everyone!
Year 4 Girls’ Football Festival
The girls in Year 4 took part in a football festival at Parsloes Park this week. They took part in lots of competitive games against other schools as well as learning lots of new skills. If you enjoyed it, then pop along to the Wildcats girls football sessions on Saturday mornings at 9.45 in Parsloes Park!
Year 6 Basketball - April 24
Year 6 also attended a different basketball tournament last week. Both Year 6 teams won lots of games with one of the teams coming home with bronze medals! Well done to all the children who represented our school with great merit.
Year 5 Basketball - April 24
Year 5 took part in a basketball competition last week against lots of other Barking and Dagenham schools. For many of them, this was their first basketball competition. They played really well and are already looking forward to the next tournament.
Year 3 & 4 Girls' Football
Our Year 3 & 4 girls football team took part in the London Youth Games football tournament this week, where they represented Barking and Dagenham against schools from all across London. It was a great experience for the girls to compete in their first ever football tournament.
Netball Finals - March 24
Having qualified from the first round last month, two teams from Year 6 took part in the Barking & Dagenham netball finals day this week. After 6 matches each, one of the teams came away with 2nd place and the silver medals. What a fantastic achievement in a competition where the standard was very high!
Badminton Festival - Feb 24
Children from Year 6 took part in the borough’s KS2 Badminton festival recently, where they took part in a variety of skills events, testing their skills against lots of other schools.
Year 3 & 4 Sportshall Athletics - Feb 24
Our Year 3&4 athletics team took part in the borough’s indoor athletics event at Eastbrook School this week. They took part in a variety of events like relay running, speed bounce, javelin and long jump. It was a very enjoyable day and we had some fantastic performances with quite a few wins along the way. Well done to all.
Netball - February 24
Two Year 6 netball teams took part in the Barking & Dagenham netball tournament at Barking Abbey this week. Year 6 have been practicing their skills in PE lessons and during break times in preparation for this tournament. They played against teams from 10 other schools, with each team playing 5 games. Amazingly, both teams won their groups without losing a single game, which mean they qualify for Netball Finals Day in March, where the top 8 teams in the borough will face each other to become Barking & Dagenham Champions and represent the borough at the London Youth Games.
Sportshall Athletics November 23
The Year 5 & 6 athletics team took part in a tournament at Sydney Russell recently. They took part in a range of running, jumping and throwing events and after all the scores were counted, they finished in second place!
Year 5&6 Girls Football
This term, the girls have been taking part in the 7-a-side Girls Ballerz League tournament. They started with a wonderful performance against the reigning champions and have three more games before Christmas.
4v4 Basketball Winners!
The Year 5 & 6 basketball team took part in a tournament at Barking Abbey recently. They played incredibly well in their group stage matches with both teams qualifying for the quarter finals. One team went all the way to the final where they won a very close battle 2-1 and came home with gold medals! Well done to everyone who took part!
Year 5&6 Tag Rugby
The Year 5&6 tag right team took part in the borough’s tournament at Sydney Russell this October. They won 6 out of their 8 games getting all the way to the trophy final and winning it. They even came home with medals for their skill, attitude and sportsmanship. Well done everyone!
Year 6 Football
Year 6 played their first football match of the year against Roding this week. Unfortunately the result didn’t go our way but a good start to the year and good to play their first match together as a team.
Year 5 & 6 Quadkids Athletics
Year 5 & 6 took part in the borough-wide Quadkids athletics competition this week. 30 schools gathered at Jim Peters Stadium at Mayesbrook Park to take part in running, jumping and throwing events. Well done to all the children who took part. A special mention for Harry in Year 6 who won two medals in some of the fun, individual events! The Year 6 team also came home home with a top 8 place overall in the main competition.
Year 3 & 4 Quadkids Athletics
Last week, year 3 & 4 took part in the borough’s flagship athletics event at Jim Peters Stadium at Mayesbrook Park. 30 schools from across Barking and Dagenham took part in a range of activities such as sprinting, relays, throwing and jumping. Our children did incredibly well, winning lots of individual races. Year 3 even won a bronze medal in the relay race which was actually St Teresa’s first medal at this event ever! Well done to all the boys and girls who took part.
Year 6 Tennis - May 23
Year 6 took part in the Barking & Dagenham schools tournament today. Both teams competed against other schools from across the borough in the group stages and amazingly, both teams won their groups and qualified for the semi finals. Unfortunately both teams los their semi finals but put in admirable performances to take home bronze medals! Well done Year 6!
Year 4 Tennis - May 23
Year 4 took part in the borough’s tennis tournament yesterday at Riverside Secondary School. We brought two teams of four children and each child played against other schools from all over Barking and Dagenham. Both teams played extremely well with one team making it all the way to the final, eventually coming home with silver medals! Congratulations to all of the children who took part - I was very impressed with your attitude, effort and skill levels throughout the day.
Year 3 & 4 Sportshall Athletics - March 23
Year 3 & 4 took part in an athletics competition at Sydney Russell School today against schools from all over Barking & Dagenham. They took part in a range of running relays, throwing and jumping events. I was so impressed with their effort, skill and determination in each activity, considering that it was the first time representing our school for lots of the children. We ended up finishing in 4th place overall! Well done boys and girls!
Netball - February 23
Last week, two netball teams from Year 5&6 took part in the Barking & Dagenham netball tournament at Barking Abbey. Both teams played group games against other schools with one of our teams qualifying for the final stages where we beat William Bellamy 2-0. We now go through to the netball finals day next month where the top 8 teams in the borough will compete to become Barking & Dagenham champions.
4v4 Basketball
The Year 6 basketball team took part in a Barking & Dagenham borough competition at Barking Abbey School this November. Our 2 teams had multiple games against a variety of different schools from across the borough with one of our teams getting all the way to the final and coming home with silver medals! Well done St. Teresa’s!
Football in Key Stage 2
We have had many football matches over the course of this term. We have been taking part in a variety of competitions like the Barking & Dagenham Post Cup for Year 6, the Boys Ballerz League for Year 4&5 boys and the Girls Ballerz League for Year 5&6 girls.
Year 4&5 Football
Well done to the boys’ football team took part in the Finesse football tournament at Goals recently. We saw some great improvements in their play so we are already looking forward to next year.
Year 5 & 6 Athletics
The Year 5&6 Athletics team took part in the borough Quadkids athletics event at Jim Peters Stadium this week. They each competed in 4 events: sprinting, long distance, long jump and mega howler throw. It was a very enjoyable day with lots of fantastic individual performances.
Bronze at the Basketball!
The Year 5&6 basketball teams took part in the borough championships at Eastbury Community School last week. Our two teams each played 5 games with the ‘Eagles’ team then qualifying for the semi finals. Unfortunately we were beaten by an excellent Beam side which meant we played in the bronze medal match. After a very tight game, we came out on top and came home with the bronze medals! There was lots of high quality basketball on show so we are very proud of both our teams.
Year 3 & 4 Athletics
The Year 3 & 4 athletics teams attended the annual Quadkids Athletics event at Jim Peters Stadium last week. It was their first time representing our school at a sports competition. They all competed in the sprints, long distance, mega howler throw and long jump to gain points for their team. There were nearly 30 schools competing at the event and the Year 3 team finished in an incredible 5th place with the Year 4 team finishing in 8th position out of all the Year 4 teams. A special mention to Chukwuebuka and Amelia who both finished in the top 10 individually after all 4 events! Well done to all of our young athletes.
Barking & Dagenham Tennis Champions!
The Year 6 tennis team took part in the borough tennis competition at Riverside School recently. This was a first tennis tournament for each of the Year 6s. They each played 7 matches and at the end of the day were crowned B&D tennis champions! A special mention to Patrick and Mary who won the awards for top scoring boy and girl at the tournament.
Year 5/6 Girls’ Football
The girls’ football team played their last game of the Super 6 competition last week. The result against St Peter’s did not go our way the the girls have finished 4th in the final league table - an incredible result in our first season reaching the Super 6 finals competition. Well done to our girls on a fantastic season!
Netball
The Year 6 netball teams travelled to St Peter & Paul’s Primary to play two games in our netball league. Both teams won their games and we showed great teamwork and communication throughout. The red team won 4-1 and the blue team won 9-1! We enjoyed drinks and biscuits after the games with our hosts - a fantastic afternoon was had by all.
Year 1 & 2 Multiskills
This term, Year 1 & 2 have been working on their sports skills. Last week, the Year 6 children set up a variety of different stations for the younger children to test their new skills. The Year 6s kept a record of each child’s score and we entered both Year 1 & 2’s scores in a borough-wide competition. Amazingly, both classes won their competitions! Well done to Year 1 & 2 and to Year 6 for being wonderful helpers.
West Ham Foundation Football Tournament
The Year 6 boys’ football team travelled to he West Ham Foundation at Beckton last week to take part in a tournament. They played 4 games, finishing third in their group. It was a great experience and we really enjoyed the day.
Football
Over the past few months, we have been enjoying returning to being able to play football matches and have had some wonderful success, including the Y6 boys team winning their first 2 games and the Y5/6 girls team winning both their league games so far and qualifying for the quarter finals of the Appleyard Shield!

Tag Rugby
Our tag rugby team took part in the borough’s tournament last week. We played three games, winning 5-3 against Ripple, 5-1 against Manor Longbridge and unfortunately losing 2-1 to George Carey. The team played very well and their hard work during our lunch time training sessions definitely paid off!
Netball
Two teams from Year 6 attended the borough’s netball competition this week. This was the first time St Teresa’s entered a netball competition. Year 6 have been learning the rules of netball in our PE lessons and they put those skills to great use at this competition. Our ‘A’ team played 4 games, winning 3 and drawing 1 against Beam. That meant we finished joint top of the group, however Beam went through to the finals as group winners due to their superior goal difference. Our ‘B’ team won 2 games, drew 1 and lost 1 and finished 2nd in their group also. What a great effort by both our teams in their first ever netball competition!
Badminton Racket Pack Festival
Pupils from Year 6 attended the borough’s Badminton Racket Pack Festival at Becontree Leisure Centre this week. We have been learning the different skills of badminton in our PE lessons and we got the opportunity to show off these skills at the festival.
Barking & Dagenham Post Cup
Our Year 6 football team played their second game of the season this week against Sydney Russell. We played very well and had numerous chances throughout the game and eventually, with 5 minutes remaining, Breanna struck the ball to the back of the net, after being set up by Joel. It was a great team performance and I was very proud of the effort and teamwork.
Year 4 & 5 Boys’ Ballerz League
Our Year 4 & 5 boys’ football team have been taking part in the Ballerz league this year. They have played three games so far, losing their first game 3-0 to William Bellamy but then bouncing back to win their last two games against Sydney Russell (1-0) and Ripple Primary (2-1). The boys have been working very hard in training and have improved so much over the last few months. Their communication, effort and teamwork skills were especially evident against Ripple in our latest game. Keep up the great work, boys!
Sports for Champions - Athlete visit
This week, we had a visit from an international long jumper, Ezekiel Ewulu. Each class completed a fitness circuit with Ezekiel and this was followed by an inspirational assembly where he demonstrated his sport and explained what his ambitions were and how he trained
